I sprayed at least six passes of custom colors to get this finish effect. Some of my spray passes were custom-tinted glazes, others were just toner. The spray-on glaze base was white, giving the oak millwork a semi-transparent whitewashed effect. For serval passes, I sprayed white glaze tinted with yellow to build the bright color gradually. I also added a few passes with yellow toned thinner to push the lemon color forward. Finally, several passes of dull acrylic clear coat was sprayed to seal the wood. The result is a natural-looking pale white oak with a hint of lemon that plays from the background to the foreground of the work.
